Active Recreation
Bocce
All skill levels are welcome to come and join this popular game.
Meets every Tuesday, at 9 a.m., and Wednesday, at 3 p.m., on the Bocce Courts (near Brossman Outdoor Pool).
Bowling
Residents meet weekly at the Clearview Lanes, in Mount Joy, at 9 a.m.
Cornhole
Join fellow residents in a friendly competition playing this popular lawn game.
Meets on Mondays, at 9 a.m., in Brossman Ballroom, Salons III & IV, and Wednesdays, at 10 a.m., in Brossman Ballroom, Salon II.
Hiking Club
The hiking club brings together fellow trail enthusiasts as they explore the scenic beauty and local trails of Pennsylvania. The group carpools from campus to different hiking trails nearby.
Meets monthly in the spring, summer and fall.
Line Dancing Class
Residents learn how to step, twirl and shuffle to their favorite songs. All skill levels are welcome.
Meets every Monday, at 1:30 p.m., in Brossman Ballroom, Salon I.
Masonic Village Golf League
The Masonic Village golf league travels to different courses in the area once a week to play a few rounds. This club runs from May through September.
Pickleball
Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis. If you are new to the sport, there are racquets available to borrow.
Meets on Tuesdays, at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.; Wednesdays, at 1 p.m.; and Thursdays, at 9 a.m., in the Patton Campus Gym.
Pool Games: 8 Ball Billiards
A casual gathering of residents playing pool games.
Meets every Tuesday and Thursday, from 6 – 8 p.m., in the James Buchanan East Game Room.
Shuffleboard
Shuffleboard is a game where players use cues to slide weighted discs down a narrow court as they aim to stop within the marked scoring area. All skill levels are invited.
Meets every Tuesday, at 6 p.m., in Brossman Ballroom, Salon II.
Social Dance Club
A casual gathering to learn and practice the basics of various ballroom dances. All levels of experience are encouraged to join.
Meets every Wednesday, at 2 p.m., in Brossman Ballroom, Salon I, and Fridays, at 9:30 a.m., in the Patton Campus Gym.
Tai Chi
Tai chi is a practice that involves a series of slow, gentle movements and physical postures. It promotes a meditative state of mind and controlled breathing.
Meets every Friday, at 9 a.m., in the Masonic Lodge Room.
Wii Bowling
Join fellow residents in this virtual bowling game to socialize with others and be active.
Meets Tuesdays, at 9:30 a.m., in Smith North, and Wednesdays, from 9 a.m. – noon, in the Grand Lodge Hall Solarium.
Cards and Games
Bingo
Bingo games at Masonic Village offer an upbeat social atmosphere for residents to enjoy each other’s company while playing a universally loved game.
Bingo games occur on the first Saturday of every month, at 2 p.m., in the Keystone Room, and on the second Monday of every month, at 6:30 p.m., in the Lodge Multipurpose Room.
Virtual Bingo is also available two Fridays a month, at 2 p.m., on Channel 956.
Contract Bridge
Also known simply as bridge, it is a trick-taking card game played by four players in two competing partnerships.
Meets every Monday, at 6:30 p.m., in the Keystone Room.
Duplicate Bridge
This is a variation of contract bridge that is widely used in club and tournament play. American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) sanctioned games cost $8 and take place every Tuesday, at 1 p.m., in the Keystone Room.
A casual duplicate bridge club meets every Thursday, at 9 a.m., in the Grand Lodge Hall Card Lounge.
Hand and Foot
A partnered rummy card game related to Canasta, it is played with two piles of cards called a “hand” and a “foot.”
Meets on the first Monday of the month, at 10 a.m., in the Keystone Room.
Mahjong
Join other residents in playing this game of skill, strategy and calculation that involves a certain degree of chance.

Pinochle
Residents can engage in this strategic card game and showcase their knack for melds and tricks.
Meets every Wednesday, at 6 p.m., in the Keystone Room.
Scrabble
In America’s favorite word game, two to four players compete as they form words to fill the 225-square board.
Scrabble by the rules group meets the second Monday of the month, at 1 p.m., and the fourth Wednesday of the month, at 1 p.m., in Grand Lodge Hall Square.
A more casual group of Scrabble players meet every Monday, at 3 p.m., in the Keystone Room.
Texas Hold ‘Em Poker
In this game, each player seeks the best five card poker hand from any combination of the seven cards: the five community cards and their two hole cards.
Meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month, at 1:30 p.m., in Smith North Recreation Room.
Musical Groups
Handbell Choir
A resident musical group that performs using handbells. Each bell in the choir corresponds to a specific note, with the full set of bells covering a chromatic scale.
Meets for rehearsals every Monday, at 9:30 a.m., in Sell Chapel.
Men’s Chorus
Each month the men’s chorus sings in Sell Chapel at the Sunday service and at other functions in the community.
Meets for practice every Thursday, at 1:30 p.m., in Sell Chapel.
Music Merrymakers
A singing group made of both men and women who perform on campus and outside Masonic Village.
Meets every Friday, at 10 a.m., in the Grand Lodge Hall Assembly Room.
Sell Chapel Choir
A choir for residents which performs at Sell Chapel Sunday services.
Meets for rehearsals every Tuesday, at 10 a.m., in Sell Chapel.
Women’s Chorus
Each month this chorus sings in Sell Chapel at the Sunday service and at other functions around campus.
Meets for practices on Mondays, at 1:30 p.m., in the Sell Chapel.
Village Encore Band
Residents and community members make up this entertaining group of talented musicians. The band plays for events at both Masonic Village and the surrounding area.
Meets for rehearsals as scheduled prior to concerts.
The Gentle-Men
This group of men gathers seasonally and dons top hats and caps for holiday performances at Masonic Village and throughout the community.
They meet in the fall and winter for rehearsals.
Creative Arts
Busy Bees Coloring Club
Relax and unwind by coloring and socializing with other residents. Please bring your own coloring books and supplies.
Meets every Saturday, from 9 a.m. – noon, in the hallway outside of the Deike Auditorium.
Ceramics - Grand Lodge Hall
Residents pick from a variety of different pieces to paint and take home. There is a $5 fee, and you must register for the class.
Meets every Tuesday, at 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., in Grand Lodge Hall Studio C.
Masonic Village Ceramics and Clay Studio
Hand-built clay classes (no wheels are used) and ceramics for residents, employees and families of all skill levels. Most projects are $5, and this includes the clay class, glazing and all firings. Signing up is essential due to space. Meets Fridays, 10 a.m. – noon, in Grand Lodge Hall Studio C.
Knit, Crochet & Needlework Circle
A casual gathering of residents to work on individual projects in a group setting. Get inspiration and tips from other creative residents.
Meets every Wednesday, at 3 p.m., in Franklin’s Press.
Masonic Village Art Association
Get together with other artistic residents, and let your creativity shine. Those with or without experience can work on individual projects, with instruction available.
The art studio is open on Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 1 – 3 p.m., in the Freemasons Cultural Center Gallery. Also, there are quarterly meetings on the first Thursday of January, May, July and October, at 1 p.m.
Masonic Village Knitters
If you enjoy knitting, crocheting and embroidery, join fellow residents to socialize and complete your projects.
Meets every Thursday, from 9:30 –11 a.m., in the Clubhouse Lobby.
Masonic Village Piece Makers Quilt Group
Residents share quilting tips and work on projects, including Quilts of Valor®, while making new friends.
Meets every Monday, from 1– 3 p.m., in the Sycamore North Rec Room.
Personal Interest Clubs
Astronomy Club
For those with a passion for the wonders of the night sky, this group discusses all things astronomy and goes out on occasional evenings for viewings.
Meets the second Tuesday of each month, at 11 a.m., in the Life Long Learning Center.
Aviation Club
This club is for residents who have an interest in and appreciation for aviation.
Meets on the first Thursday of each month, at 10 a.m., in the Life Long Learning Center.
Book Club: The Village Bookies
The book club was created for those who love books and the adventure of reading.
Meets on the first Thursday of the month, at 1 p.m., in the Grand Lodge Hall Conference Room.
Classes for the Curious
Curious residents receive instruction in math, science, philosophy, humanities and more.
Meets every Tuesday, at 10 a.m., in the Life Long Learning Center.
Masonic Village Flying Club
A club for residents to fly model airplanes and mingle with others.
Meets seasonally in Sycamore North.
Garden Plots
Residents have the chance to show off their green thumb in one of Masonic Village’s garden plots.
Meets once a year to collect dues and discuss any issues or rules.
Genealogy Group
Want to know more about your family history? The genealogy group is a place for residents to learn various ways to research their family tree.
Meets on the second Wednesday of the month, at 2 p.m., in the Life Long Learning Center.
Grey Lions
This official Penn State Alumni Interest Group meets monthly to hear from interesting guest speakers, enjoy a picnic or attend a sporting event. All are welcome to join even if you are not a Penn State alumni.
Meets on the first Friday of the month, at 1:30 p.m., in the Keystone Room.
German Club
Study the German language and culture and spend time with other residents who have a similar interest.
Meets on the third Wednesday of the month, at 2 p.m., in the Grand Lodge Hall Solarium.
Intergenerational Sensory Garden
Located in a courtyard behind the Lancaster apartments, the garden provides a learning and growing opportunity for residents and kids from the U-GRO Learning Centre on campus.
Meets weekly outdoors in the warmer months and indoors in the colder months.
The Inquisitives
This group is for curious and inquiring residents who want to discuss issues in society.
Meets on the first Wednesday of the month, at 10 a.m., in the Keystone Room. Every other Wednesday, they meet via Zoom.
Life Stories Group
Fine tune your writing skills while sharing life stories with fellow residents.
Meets on the second and fourth Monday of every month, at 10 a.m., in the Star Points Room at the Grand Lodge Hall.
Masonic Village Amateur Radio Club
Those who are licensed by the FCC may use the dedicated space and equipment to talk with other enthusiasts around the globe.
The group meets biannually to cover rules and regulations.
Freemasons Discussion Group
An opportunity for Masons from any lodge to gather and discuss various topics of interest.
Meets on the second Tuesday of the month, at 8 a.m., in the Brossman Ballroom.
Masonic Village and Elizabethtown Model Railroad Club
This club is for residents who have an interest in building and operating model trains and railroads, specializing in G, O, S, Standard, HO, N and Z scale gauge trains.
Open houses of the MV&E Model Railroad are scheduled for the first weekend of the month, October through April, from 2 – 4 p.m.
The club meets on the first Tuesday of the month (except in July and August), at 7:30 p.m., in the Railroad Building.
Rooster Woodshop
The Rooster Woodshop is a woodworking shop, featuring 56 benches, 20 assembly tables and a paint booth. Residents can create their own pieces of furniture, wood art and more. The showroom is open to the public, and items are available for purchase.
The woodshop is open daily for residents’ use.
Social Hour Discussion Group
Join friends and peers as they discuss various subjects during this hour. New topics are selected each month.

Travel Club
The travel club specializes in coordinating overnight trips and cruises, including national and international destinations.
Meets on the fourth Tuesday of every other month, at 10 a.m., in the Keystone Room.

Book Club: Sell Chapel
Participants make recommendations for the assigned book of the month and gather for dialogue and refreshments.
Meets the second Monday of the month, at 2 p.m., in the Sell Chapel Parlor.
Men’s Bible Study
Join other men in fellowship as they discuss scriptures and Christianity.
Meets every Friday, at 9 a.m., in the James Buchanan All Purpose Room.
Pastor-Led Bible Study
Each week a pastor will lead residents through a sermon, read the Bible and discuss scriptures.
Meets every Thursday, at 2 p.m., in the Keystone Room.
Resident-Led Bible Study
Grow in your faith with others in this Bible study led by residents who read scriptures and give a message.

Special Singles Women’s Group
This group is a great way to grow in your relationships with other women on campus.

Join other residents in time for prayer and relaxation during the Jewish day of rest and celebration.

Tree of Life Gathering
Enjoy the company of fellow residents with made-to-order drinks and snacks. All donations raised support the Tree of Life fund.
Meets on the third Friday of each month, at 3 p.m., in the Keystone Room.
Movies in the Deike Auditorium
Popular movies are screened in the spacious Deike Auditorium. Dates vary, but normally the films are shown monthly.
Wine and Cheese at the Grand Lodge Hall
Once a month, residents can relax and unwind with a glass of wine and the comradery of friends.
Wine and Cheese in the Keystone Room
Live entertainment provides a backdrop for fellowship and good wine.
Meets on the second Sunday of the month (except in May when it is the third Sunday), at 5 p.m.

Caregiver Support
This group is designed for retirement living residents who are currently caregivers to someone in their home.
Meets on the first Thursday of the month, at 1:30 p.m., in the Lodge Multipurpose Room.
Dementia Support Group
This group was created to help support those who are caregivers to someone with dementia. Attendees learn more about dementia and ways to better support their loved ones. It is open to both residents and the public.
Meets on the third Tuesday of the month, at 10:30 a.m., in the Masonic Health Care Center Courtyard Conference Room.
Grief Journey and Your Wellness
This group is for those who are newly-bereaved and focuses on grief’s impact on wellness.
Meets on the third Thursday of the month, at 6 p.m., in the Keystone Room.
Hope Finders
Hope Finders is for men and women seeking hope, light and encouragement as they learn to live and thrive without their life partners.
Meets on the fourth Friday of the month, at 10:30 a.m., in the Keystone Room.
Hope Share
Hope Share is a support program for those who have lost a spouse.
Meets twice a year on Tuesdays and is a seven-week session.
Keystone Support Group
This group is for individuals who have been grieving for two years or more and are interested in life after loss.
Meets on the second Monday of the month, at 10:30 a.m., in the Keystone Room.
Supporting Parkinson’s
This is a group for people with Parkinson’s and those who support them.
Meets on the second Tuesday of every other month, at 2 p.m., in the Life Long Learning Center.
Sycamore North Bereavement Support Group
This group is for newly bereaved individuals, grieving for two years or less. Anyone is welcome to attend in their new grief journey.
Meets on the third Thursday of the month, at 12:30 p.m., in the Sycamore North Recreation Room.
